What to Do After You Receive T1 Samples from Your Mold Supplier

Receiving your first T1 mold trial samples is an exciting step—but what happens next? At Dongxinda, we guide our clients through the post-T1 phase to ensure a smooth transition to full production.

Key Steps After Receiving T1 Samples:

  1. Dimensional Review: Compare sample measurements against 2D drawings or CAD models.

  2. Appearance Check: Look for flow lines, sink marks, or weld lines on cosmetic surfaces.

  3. Fit & Function Test: Assemble the parts or test them in real use scenarios.

  4. Feedback Submission: Share any issues or adjustments required (e.g., flash, tight fit, draft marks).

Dongxinda’s engineers will then review your feedback, evaluate potential causes, and—if needed—modify the mold before T2.

FAQs:

  • What if part dimensions are out of tolerance?
We’ll adjust the cavity/core or cooling layout and provide a new T2 sample at no cost.

  • Can you help with assembly problems?
Yes, we analyze mating issues and can suggest draft or clearance changes.

  • Is a T2 or T3 trial always necessary?
Not always—many molds pass T1. But complex parts may need 1–2 rounds of optimization.
